DLR is committed to high quality research in the fields of aeronautics, space, energy, transport and security. The aim of DLR’s energy research is to substantially contribute to the development of a sustainable energy system, mostly focusing on the supply side. Research and development activities cover energy conversion technologies, selected renewable energies, energy storage and systems analysis. DLR is active in the area of electrochemical energy technology since about 30 years and is recognised as one of the major research institutions in the world.
