Hydrogenious LOHC Technologies GmbH
Hydrogenious LOHC Technologies is a pioneer and global industry leader in the field of hydrogen storage in Liquid Organic Hydrogen Carrier (LOHC) materials. The patented technology enables efficient and cost-effective high-density hydrogen storage in a safe and easy-to-handle oil, thus eliminating the need for pressurized hydrogen tanks for hydrogen storage and transportation.
As a spin-off of Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen–Nuremberg and the Bavarian Hydrogen Center, the company is a SME and is headquartered in Erlangen, Germany. Hydrogenious LOHC Technologies was founded by CEO Dr. Daniel Teichmann and Professors Peter Wasserscheid, Wolfgang Arlt and Eberhard Schlücker. Together with their research teams at Friedrich-Alexander-University of Erlangen-Nuremberg (FAU), they developed and optimized the breakthrough technology. Over the past 5 years, Hydrogenious LOHC Technologies has successfully brought the LOHC systems from lab into technical and commercial scale. In Q4 2017, two containerized LOHC systems have been delivered to United Hydrogen Group (USA) for field-testing.
Hydrogenious LOHC Technologies has won several awards over the years for its innovative technology, amongst them the ‘Bavarian Founder Award 2014’, ‘Science4Liffe Venture Cup 2014’, ‘German Accelerator 2015’,the ‘German Industry Innovation Award 2016’, the STEP Award 2016 and the Energy Transition Award 2017, Category Cleantech against Climate Change.
Hydrogenious LOHC Technologies employs 65 people.
